When VLC was back on the App Store, I was excited to have an all-powerful media player for the iPhone/iPad finally.
On Mac: Click on 'File' 'Open Network', enter the YouTube video URL and click 'Open'. Get and Copy Codec Information of the YouTube Video. On Windows: Hit 'Tools' 'Codec Information' to copy the full URL besides the 'Location' title. This is the direct URL of the YouTube video.
Interestingly, VLC comes with almost all the features that make it the fantastic media player that it is. And obviously one of the coolest features that VLC incorporates is the popular Wifi upload (which is also supported by most other media player apps).
Wi-fi upload is a really great feature. First off, there’s no wires, copy-paste, and sync. And that’s a huge relief. Obviously, the only thing you need is a Wi-fi network to which both your iPhone/iPad and your computer (that has the file) are connected.
Wi-fi upload also makes it dead simple as far as interfaces are concerned.
How to Transfer Movies & Videos to VLC for iPhone/iPad using Wi-fi UploadHow To Copy Files Into Mac Vlc.app Folder Files
So here we go:
1. Rhino mac app duet. Let’s first make sure your VLC app has Wi-fi upload enabled.
Step #1. Open VLC for iOS on your iPhone/iPad.
Step #2. Tap on the VLC icon on top.

Step #3. Where it says Wi-fi Upload, toggle the switch to ON.
Note the IP address that’s right beneath the option.
2. Let’s transfer the file now.
Step #1. Open a web browser on your computer.
Step #2. Type the IP address that goes something like (xx can be any number.)
Step #3. You should see an interface as shown in the header of this image.
Step #4. Click on Upload or just drag and drop the video files that you want to transfer to your iPhone/iPad.
Wait for the transfer to finish.
The VLC app for your iPhone/iPad should auto-update the media list and show the newly uploaded files. If they’re not compatible (like if you add .aac or .mp3 files), they won’t show up in the app even if you’ve got a successful file transfer.
So that’s about it.
